ScubaOS
Dive log & technical planner

Built like a dive computer.

ScubaOS logs your dives and plans them — recreational through trimix — with instrument-grade legibility. Local-first, free at the core, on every device you own.

Launching on iPhone, iPad, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux.

One app, the whole dive

Recreational to trimix, without switching tools.

Most divers juggle a logbook app, a planner, a spreadsheet for kit and a vendor cloud they don't trust. ScubaOS is one place for all of it — adapting from a simple recreational view to a full technical one by quietly revealing depth, never by becoming a different app.

See it in action

The same screens, on every device.

A look at ScubaOS — the dive detail, the decompression planner, the feed, dive-site pages and your kit. Calm, legible, and identical from your phone to your desktop. Swipe through.

The log

Every dive, kept properly.

A logbook that does the dive justice — the depth profile as a clean trace, your gas, kit and buddies, photos and notes. Readable at a glance, never a spreadsheet.

  • The profile, with temperature and tank pressure
  • Photos and videos, straight from your camera roll
  • Download from your Shearwater over Bluetooth

The planner Plus

The maths, done honestly.

Bühlmann ZHL-16C with gradient factors and full trimix, validated against Subsurface. It will never quietly bend an impossible plan — it surfaces it as an error.

  • Gradient factors you control; nitrogen and helium throughout
  • Simple by default, technical when you need it — one app
  • Deco and limits shown with label and position, never colour alone

Where it sits

How ScubaOS compares.

There are good dive apps already. ScubaOS aims for the rigour of the serious ones and the craft of the polished ones — on every platform, with your data in your hands.

vs Subsurface

Subsurface is powerful and trusted, but it looks and feels like a tool from another era.

ScubaOS validates its deco against Subsurface, then gives you a planner and a logbook you'll actually want to open — on mobile, not just the desktop.

vs MacDive

MacDive is genuinely well made, but it's Apple-only and paid up front.

ScubaOS is cross-platform — iPhone, Android and desktop — local-first, and free at the core.

vs vendor cloud apps

Computer-maker apps tie your log to one brand and one cloud.

ScubaOS keeps your log on your device and syncs through your own cloud or server. Your data is yours, in an open format you can export any time.

Questions

Straight answers.

Is it free?

The dive log and core planning are free forever, with no ads and no selling your data. Plus (a one-time purchase) and Pro (a subscription) add the full planner, share-card export, and cloud or server sync — never required to log or plan.

Do I need an account?

No. The logbook and planner work fully offline with no account. An account only adds cross-device sync and the optional social feed.

When does it launch?

ScubaOS is in active development, launching in 2026 on iPhone, iPad, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux. Email us to hear when it's ready.

Is my data private?

Local-first by design. Your log lives on your device; sync is opt-in through your own cloud; shared dives fuzz their exact site and strip photo location. See the Privacy Policy.

Is it a serious planner?

Bühlmann ZHL-16C with gradient factors and full trimix, validated against Subsurface. It won't quietly bend an impossible plan — it tells you.

Can I bring my existing logbook?

Yes — import from UDDF, Subsurface and CSV, and download from your Shearwater over Bluetooth. You can export your whole log any time.
