Is the free plan really free?
Yes. The dive log, kit tracking, computer download and quick-slate planning are free forever, with no ads and no selling your data. Plus and Pro add the full planner, share-card export and sync, never required to log or plan.
What’s the difference between Plus and Pro?
Plus is a one-time purchase: the full decompression planner, tides, share-card export, your-own-cloud backup and your first group. Pro is a subscription that adds cross-device sync through the ScubaOS server, high-res tidal streams, up to five groups and more posting.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Pro starts with a 7-day free trial, and because Pro includes everything in Plus, it’s the way to try every paid feature for a week. Cancel before it ends and you’re not charged. Quick-slate planning is free forever anyway, no trial needed.
Is Plus really a one-time payment?
Yes. Pay once, and the planner, tides, export and own-cloud backup are yours for good. Pro is the only subscription, because servers cost money every month.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. Plus is billed once; Pro bills monthly or yearly after the trial and can be cancelled any time from your store account; you keep access until the period ends. A plan bought on one device unlocks on all of them.
Do I need an account?
No. The logbook and planner work fully offline with no account. An account only exists for cross-device sync and the community feed, and is only asked for when you use them.
Can I bring my existing logbook?
Yes. Import from UDDF, Subsurface, CSV and Garmin FIT, and download dives straight from a Shearwater over Bluetooth. Your whole log exports again in open formats, any time.
Is my data private?
Local-first by design: your log lives on your device, sync is opt-in, and shared dives fuzz their exact site and strip photo location. See the Privacy Policy.
When does it launch?
In 2026, on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows and Linux. Email us and we’ll tell you the moment it’s out.
Can I rely on it for decompression?
No software can guarantee a safe dive. ScubaOS is a planning aid. Always dive within your training and trust your certified dive computer in the water.
