Our story

Built by a diver.

ScubaOS is built in the United Kingdom by Piers, a diver who got tired of running a logbook app, a separate planner, a kit spreadsheet and a vendor cloud he didn’t entirely trust, and decided the whole dive belonged in one place.

Why it exists

Dive software has treated divers as an afterthought for years: logs locked into vendor clouds, planning bolted on, kit in a spreadsheet. ScubaOS starts from the dive and works outwards.

Built like a dive computer.

Your log lives on your device and works without signal. The planner runs Bühlmann ZHL-16C with gradient factors, the model the serious tools run, and every build is validated against reference schedules before it ships. If a plan can’t be dived, ScubaOS says so rather than quietly bending the schedule.

Never a paywall on safety.

The logbook, quick planning and computer download are free, forever, without an account. The paid tiers cover what costs money to run, like sync and community, and nothing else. No ads, and no selling your data. That is a design decision, not a promotion.

Trained, not tempted

ScubaOS is built around how divers are actually trained. It understands agency qualifications from BSAC, PADI, SSI and TDI, and the deep end of the app only opens up when your training does. A planner should follow your certification, never tempt you past it.
